We recently packed our bags and headed out of Kampala with a single, powerful mission: to bring a lifetime of skill and hope to the rural communities of Kiboga. Our small but mighty team of six volunteers was ready to roll up their sleeves and kick off the highly anticipated “Echoes of Love” Outreach.
Our primary aim was to tackle two major challenges facing the community: income generation and improved hygiene. We did this by holding an open, hands-on class teaching the vital skills of soap, detergent, and bleaching agent production.
Why soap? The skill is a game-changer:
The class was a resounding success! With one of our volunteers being a practical skills teacher, we ensured the training was accessible to everyone—all that was needed was a pen and paper. By the time we left, over 400 people had enthusiastically grabbed this dual skill set, making the day incredibly impactful. As a token of their achievement, every attendee left with a sample of soap or detergent they could create themselves.
Our outreach wasn’t just about practical skills; it was about holistic community well-being.
We owe a huge thank you to all the donors, organizations, and individuals who made the “Echoes of Love” Outreach possible. The funds came from various sources, including tourism services facilitated by the Innovate Africa Foundation tour trip to Uganda.
This directly reflects Zuula Africa’s unique concept: we aim to empower skills and talents within Africa, allowing people to discover their potential, while simultaneously inviting the world to discover the beauty of Africa through tourism services. Our tourism service is a critical way we facilitate and fund the vital Zuula Programs like this one.
We are so glad that the “Echoes of Love” Outreach was truly impactful, sowing seeds of skill, hygiene, and hope in the hearts of the Kiboga community.
